So I was out on the river today, casting from shore like I usually do in search for bass and pike - or anything that will hit a spoon.  To my surprise I caught a walleye on my chrome spoon with a red treble hook.
Has anyone else caught a walleye on a spoon.  Its my first and probably my last.  The walleye was 16" and there was an even bigger walleye chasing the one I had one (bummer that one didnt hit, because this guy wasnt big enough for the fishing challenge).  I wonder if they were just hungry, but it was the only fish I caught all day. I had a few other walleyes chase my spoon up to the rocks, but not hit it.  No bass or pike.... weird day!

Anyways, anyone ever caught a walleye on a spoon (other than a jigging spoon)?

Here is a picture - I was pretty excited about it

Used to catch them on spinner baits all the time on a few lakes I used to fish.

The old red and white dardevle. They do bring in walleyes on occasion. My Dad always seemed to be able to catch walleyes that way while northern fishing.

I've caught walleyes on mepps spinners, redeyes, daredevils, rattle raps, and even jointed tail X-raps.  I get them on occation fishing muskies/northerns/bass

I think I have caught a total of 3 Walleyes on Daredevils over the years. All river fishing.
