In your opinion what stage is the rut in

Just asking for what most of us might be thinking are the bucks chasing where are we at as far as the rut go's

The group I normally hunt with have not seen a deer all weekend again. 2 weekends running I normal hunt south Osakis but was able to hunt or bow hunting land first weeken with a gun saw very limited deer Evan in The early am on the drive out to stands as well as after sunset just don't see the deer moving.  When we have the have been in groups of 12 to 15 to 18 very strange

So what do you guys and gals think where are we with the rut???

We are east central, and have not seen bucks chasing yet.
Doe's with fawns still, year and 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old's, by themselves.

The big ones could be tending doe's, if they are, they are holding tight.

Last Friday the bucks were chasing.  I saw 4 bucks.  Two were after a doe and the other two were trolling.  The first one was just a tad early to get a good shot.  It was a big one and at 6:50 AM it was just to dark yet to risk a long shot.  Saw another crossing a swamp at 7:05.  As I got ready he wend behind a bunch of trees and never came out.  Later another came in down wind.  I checked with binos and decided I probably shoot it but it also dissapeared before it got to me.  The last one simply scented me and high tailed it out of there.  My son also saw a big one chasing a doe in a swamp.

One neighbor watched a buck bread a doe 3 times on the sat. opener.  Most fawns were running around this last weekend without their ma's.  I watched a small 6 pointer chase a doe onto the neighbors land only to get shot.   I was west of grand rapids.

I slug hunt 288.  The bucks we shot down there were walking alone and the necks were not really swollen.  It's hard to say.  There was a lot of scrapes though. 

I live and bowhunt in 338.  Last night I saw a doe with 2 fawns and another doe with one fawn.  This morning while geting the kiddos ready for school we saw a doe 20 yds from the house, standing still for about 10 minutes looking back at us.  Or what I thought was us.  Then a buck came out of the woods and chased her around the yard for awhile and then chased her out of sight.

My daughter looked at me and said "Daddy, it looks like the buck wants to play tag with the doe."

My older boy (16) watched a spike buck chase a doe around his stand on Thursday morning on public land near Upper Red lake.

Ya the buck that I saw on thursday was definitely chasing the doe, it had it's head down and was grunting as well. That was actually the first time I had heard a buck grunt. That was up by Upper Red Lake.

I'd say in full rut right now by the activity I  :deer:saw.

ive seen it 2 different ways so far. up north by park rapids, there necks are pretty swollen. down here in the west metro, we only seeing a small amount of chasing, mostly smaller bucks harassing. lots of scrapes and rubs though. so it has to be close around here

I just came back from SD pheasant hunting and the rut was on in full effect.  Bucks chasing, the bigger bucks pushing anything else out of the way.  It was fun to watch and WOW the monsters I saw out there were impressive.

Buddy shot the buck ran onto neighbors property and they finished it off we did not get the deer and he put a leathal shot on it (top of lungs) deer went about 200-250 yards before they shot it

Doe went my way and I poped her
