well things have slowed down in the woods the cameras haven't been getting much activity the past few weeks and it don't seem like many deer were shot down around the land i hunt on in central MN
but i was talking to a buddy and we were discussing the rut and how they hasn't been a lot of chasing going on I myself don't think the rut peaked as early as some were hoping this season i think the rut will really fire up from now until the first week in December well that's what im hoping anyway. but I just wanted some input on how many think the rut peaked or is in full swing and how many think it's going to be later than expected. so what's your guess and what have you been seeing in your neck of the woods?
Hunting is not life and death. It is more important than that.

I seen chasing go'in on during rifle season and small bucks checking scent wicks.
But, I don't believe it was in full swing.

I got a buck with my bow on Nov 2nd that was chasing does nose to the ground, never looked up. Rifle opener was odd as we saw 13 does and not one of them was being chased. Then last saturday I saw a buck bedded in the middle of our hayfield with a doe, a little while later a doe ran past me with a little buck hot on her trail. 2 nights ago on my way home from work I saw a monster out in the open working a fenceline. So I have seen some rutting behavior over the last month, however most of it has been within the last week or so.

Personally I think the rut is on the way out. Seen plenty of deer the last few days and no mixes in them at all, bucks with no does, does with no bucks. Pulled in this evening from from work, had 4 does in the back yard. Had a couple little bucks haning around outside my does pen and that has all come to an end, could be they were out chasing the wild ones. But I'm pretty sure it has wound down quite a bit.
