I have a puter here new with windows 8.1.I have a free upgrade to win 10 if I want it.
 I am hesitant because of all the minor problems like what yer sayin here. I tried a trial version of 10 and with my little knowledge a puters it was a hassle trying to get lots of different things to work!!!!!
 Can you downgrade to win8.1?

I updated the house computer with widows 10 (I like it WAY better than windows 7) I run Firefox for my browser, way more secure and alot less hassle. I don't have the issues you are experiencing.

  I had windows 8.1 for a few weeks then upgraded to 10.   I like windows 10 much better than the 8.1.   I use firefox as a browser with no issues.  Check the settings on internet explorer.  I am pretty sure there is a setting to turn emoticons on or off.  I know I have seen it somewhere.  I just don't remember where.

Yeah, it wouldn't be in your profile. But, I would be looking at your internet settings.

Glenn, do you have the smilies atop the message box when you reply to a thread?  If you do what happens when you click on one of them?  Does it appear in your message if you preview it?  I'm just trying to figure out at what point they don't work.  It is a settings issue for sure.  If you can use them elsewhere it has to be your internet browsing settings for this page.

yea its on top. when I click on the smiley the little bar in my message box disappears! I tried the preview same thing. and it only happens with the computer at work as we all got new boxes!

explain more in detail the internet browser settings???? you see I am as skilled with a puter as a camera taking fish pictures!!!!

  Try opening up internet explorer.  Go to the upper right hand corner and click on the wheel symbol. (tools)  Go to compatibility view settings and type in         mnoutdoorsman.com     Try that first.  If that doesn't work you will have to go to internet options and set the browser settings to default.

 just signed in Lee, been busy being a union thug.....and its going to get even scarier in about 2 hours. hammer is going to fall. brought the big guns today!

and no DDS I did not. its only from my office puter. my phone and laptop are fine. if I feel the need to insert them I use my phone!!!!!!!!!

  I think the issue is with the Microsoft Edge browser that comes as the default browser for windows 10.  I don't use it for many reasons.  There must be a compatibility issue with this  site.  Somewhere there has to be a browser setting like allow Html or something.
