man I sure am seeing a lot of deer getting smucked on the roads the last 3 weeks. kinda bugs me to see that. :bonk: :doah:

That could be a good sign.  The herd is recovering nicely from several down years. Of course it's not a good sign if it's wrapped around your hood.

It's usually typical this time of year. Last years fawns are displaced from the fawning does, and really don't know where or what to do. Sure, they can eat and function on their own,  but they do have a problem with being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Bugs and ditch grass play a roll as well. They can't  stay in the woods because the bugs drive them nuts so they go out into then open and they feed on the short ditch grass this time of the year. And like HD said a lot of younger ones that haven't learned yet.
