that is good!!  that is what we try to do, release the larger gills...
a bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work!!

These days the best big gill fishing is found most often on private water's,land locked ponds with springs and outof the way farm ponds found in iowa and nebraska where angler can catch blue gills up to 2+ lbs.such as these.

Oh,and a must,once these honey holes are found "keep your mouth shut" or mention a different lake for the hoards
