I just put a down payment on a brand new, 2019, 4 stroke, electric start, short shaft, 15hp Yamaha  :party3:

It will replace my 9.9 Evenrude on my river boat (it was time)

My guess is he doesn't want to bang it up on the river bottom.  Nice motor HD.

DE & Mikey are correct. The transom measures 15 inches. And yup, I don't wanna bang it up on the rocks in the river.

That sure is nice!!!  Great motor.  I'm thinking of down sizing.  Going to sell my 1850 Chrestliner with a 115 4 stroke.  Love it but time to down size and I love that 15 hp and that's what I will be going after but with a long shaft.  Small lakes up north.  good luck.

So it was a complete success HD.  You are already catching fish with the new motor.
