I went up last weekend for the grouse opener, A.K.A. a thinkly vield excuse to do some deer scouting.  Northeast of  Brainerd.  Flew two grouse, but no chance for a shot with all the leaves still up.  The only other thing I saw a lot of were wolf tracks.  Lots and lots of wolf tracks.  They're obviously thick in our hunting area.  Doesn't bode well for gun season.  Is anyone else noticing increased wolf activities in their AO?

The neighbor's mule killed one last week while guarding his goats and sheep.  He gets one every few months over there.  Stomps the crap out of 'em and chews 'em up till they die.

I hunt 259. Had some about ten years ago. The cats ran them off and then the cats disappeared. Now we have some coyotes that's all.
