We only had 3 hunters this year...
My son-in-law, Jr. & Me....
Son-in-law got a 7 point (G3 broke off) would have been an 8
Jr got an 8 point
And I harvested a big doe.

All in all, a good weekend and memories were made!

Now, I'm processing 🦌

Our deer camp did not go as planned, but turned out well.  We were planning to leave for Minnesota Thursday after work, but my wife got sick.  We changed our departure date to Saturday morning so she could recover and I took my oldest son out on Friday to see if we could fill his ND tag.  I had no plans of shooting anything on Friday because I didn't want to deal with it that evening, but I couldn't pass up the giant buck that ran past me at 40 yards.  After butchering him and re-packing our truck that night we were finally on our way to Minnesota on Saturday morning.  We had just enough time to check into our cabin and change clothes before I drove my wife and son to our land for their evening hunt.  I took the baby to Walmart to buy groceries for the weekend and didn't even have my cart half full before my wife is texting me to come back and help her look for the 2 deer she just shot.  Back to the land and we tracked down and loaded up my wife's spike buck and large doe.  I was in the box of my truck grabbing my knives to dress them when I spotted another deer 100 yards away just outside the tree line.  I whispered for my son to grab his rifle and 10 seconds later, deer number 3 ran off into the woods to take its final breath.  I dressed them out and we piled them in our shed to keep the predators away.  We butchered them Sunday morning and spent the rest of the day relaxing at the cabin and watching the Vikings pull it out that night.  Left for home first thing Monday and my poor rifle never even left it's case.  It was a great weekend with my family and hard to believe it was over so fast and I have to wait another year for my favorite time of the year.

I do have to ask. With Bucks like that in ND, why even come to spike and Doe land?

Haha.  I married a Minnesota gal, so we make our annual trip east. :happy1:

I actually prefer the Minnesota style of hunting much better anyways.  Plus its been a blast purchasing our own property and developing it for deer hunting.
