How often do you guys season or re-season your cast iron cooking utensils?

I did my grill, smoker, and pan prior to their first voyage but curious if you guys do them yearly or when they start sticking again, or…

Thanks

Mama said that you can tell when it needs to be seasoned.... I asked her when was that, and all she replied was "you can tell"

After asking her more, with all the snide remarks.... I started drinking Scotch and dropped the subject.  :sorry:
Mama always said, If you ain't got noth'in nice to say, don't say noth'in at all!

Kent Rollins is the king of cast iron. He has some very good videos on cleaning and seasoning cast iron. I pretty much follow his advise and it works good for me.

My problem is they sit on on the grill for a overnight being too hot to do anything with the night of. Sooo they get scrubbed and tgat leads to sticking.

The smoker seems good as no sticking at over a year.

The grill however, may need a touch up.

Like HD's wife, I just season them when I think they need it. the ones I use for frying fish pretty much get seasoned every time I use them.

I have a couple of them.  I just oil them with vegetable oil.  Olive oil makes them sticky as heck so don't use that.  Then put in oven for awhile.

Well Glenn, maybe when you Learn to cook you’ll revisit it.

In the Winter when it's minus 100 and too cold to use the grill and if we can afford  :rotflmao: a nice steak it goes in a cast iron pan. No questions asked. We'll also shred some raw potatos and toss them in another one. As far as favorite meals this in in my top two or three fav's.  :happy1: :happy1:
