I tore my meniscus june 30 at work.  I finally had surgery today.  It went well.  Doctor said it was a huge tear and I will require a full knee replacement in a few years.  Bone on bone with lots of arthritis.   Sucks getting older.  Thankfully it happened at work so it's now covered for the rest of my life.

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: me thinks someones gonna milk it through deer season!!!!!!!!! :happy1: :rotflmao:

yea watching my wife recover through the knee replacements with physical therapy was tough to watch. and i made the mistake of going with her to one of her therapy sessions. UFFDA.....they worked her over.  its my understanding when they do the replacement its not the knee itself, they do a lot of moving and pulling on the muscles around the knee......thats why the intense therapy........to get them muscles back in shape and place.

Good luck DK, when I had my knee replacement it took me about a year to recover. And like Glenn mentioned, the therapy is brutal. But you have to stick with it or your knee will never completely straighten out, and you could end with a limp for the rest of you life.

Thanks guys.  Staying positive.  Slept well last night.  Dr injected painkiller into the knee after he was done removing the bad parts.  Days 2 and 3 are going to be the worst he said.  Elivate and ice will be my friend he said.

So the big question is will it help shooting your bow. Do we have to setup a ground blind for you.  :azn:

No ground blind needed.  It will help my shooting.  It still hurts pretty bad.  I did stop taking the pain pills.  I don't remember but my wife said the dr told us he had to remove a huge  chunk of the meniscus.   He said the next surgery on this knee will be a full knee replacement.  Hopefully it is far in the future.

I had an ACL in High School. Knee replacement 50 years later. But it kept me out of going to Vietnam. Failed the Army Physical. Hope you can last that long.

Got to hurting pretty bad tonight so I gave in and took 2 pain killers.  It is getting more swollen tonight.  Guess that's the bodies way of saying I over did it today.  Wife says I cant go fishing tomorrow.  Tuesday when she's at work will be a different story.
