I got this email the other day and though I would share it with you al!

Hello,

My name is Tim and I live in central Minnesota. I hope you find this story interesting.

I have been video taping the same twin albino whitetail deer in my back yard since 2006. Back then they were only 6 months old. This rare albino brother and sister will be 2 years old this spring. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources tells me albino twins are so rare, they can't tell me the odds of even seeing them!

These photos were taken January 18, 2008. It's hard to believe they are still coming to my back yard feeder today!

The twins will be making their television debut Sunday February 17, 2008 @ 10:35 pm cst on KSTP TV Channel 5 Mpls/St. Paul Mn. "On The Road Again " with Jason Davis will be featuring the twins on his show from my home.

If you miss the air date, go to www.kstptv.com , look in the left hand column under the heading "Only On 5" and click on "On The Road". You can view past episodes of his shows.

I feel very fortunate to see the twins every evening during the winter months and occasionally in the summer.

Sincerely,
Tim Roeschlein

Very nice but if I seen them during season I would like to think I could let them go but not sure, beings we hunt for food and some years you dont see too many deer, and you have to take what you see. That being said I dont want anyone thinking I shoot bambis either. I let the little ones go. Although one year I shot a young one only because someone else wounded it and didnt retrieve it. The whole front shoulder was blown out when it limped by me so I had to put it out of its misery. It probably weighed in at about 6o pounds. Made me sick.

Hello everyone,
I think the main reason I don't have those albinos in the freezer is my granddaughter enjoys watching the twins when she comes to visit. I'll be fifty years old this year and I think a persons priorities change with age.

This will be the second year the twins have been coming to my back yard to eat from my feeder. They've become pretty domesticated and it would be a lot like shooting a cow in a pasture. The feeder is only 40 feet from my patio door so the thrill of the hunt wouldn't be much of a thrill at all.

I know it's hard for the younger hunters to understand my reasoning, and yet I know the older hunters with grand children understand completely.

According to Native American folklore, albino deer are supposed to bring good luck. The twins were standing at the feeder on opening day 2007 and they actually did bring me good luck! Here's a photo of the 10 pointer I harvested during the 2007 gun season.

I agree with you 100% Tim!  They are truly animals of beauty and I would not shoot either of them if I saw them.  However, if that albino buck looked like the one in your picture I think that would be a whole nuther story!  What a gorgeous mount that would make!  Hope that they are not giving the location on the broadcast as I am sure that there will be folks that will come looking for them if they do.  N Joy the Deer!  Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

I sacrificed my own embarrassment on tv for the albino twins but I think it was good for everyone to see them. I would really like to know what the children that watched the show thought.
I hope to get a children's picture book published that would be used to help sick children to cope with their illness or to help them to feel more comfortable when their in the hospital and away from home.
Not for profit, just to help.

Tim

What do you think. Would a book with photos like this one cheer up a sick child?

I would think so. Its such a unique animal.  Maybe someone with a unique illness could see the beauty in those animals and understand that God has a purpose for everyone.
