Was just reading the paper today and seen where 3 fish shacks were broken into and gear was stolen. It happened near new london/spicer area lakes. 2 of the incidents happened on eagle lake and one on andrew. All 3 were believed to have happened on the night of jan 2nd. No leads or arrests just filed reports with sherriff.

Well this sickens me but I am glad of one thing. On the morning of jan 2nd I pulled my shack off of andrew and moved it to another lake. Never know if I'd have left it there another day they might have gotten mine too.

This happens every yr on about half a dozen different lakes around here. :taz:

This is the reason why I never lock my fish house when I had a perm.  It only keeps out the honest.  I would leave nothing in their except the rattle reels.  If someone wants to get in they will.  Nothing ruins a fishing outting more then getting their and your door is hanging by a hinge and your gear is gone.

I am 100% with you General Another reason I do not lock up my permanent is that in the rare case that some poor unfortunate falls through or is suffering from the cold and needs shelter it may mean the difference between life and death. It has cost me an old wood heater in the past and they even went as far as stealing the wood I had in the shack. It was Eagle Lake in Hennepin county.Once on White Bear Lake someone tried to burn it down but did not suceed. they did incinerate two others nearby though Along with ripping the doors off others.

We have been having several incidents of this down here in the Albert Lea area already as well on Fountain Lake. Some gear stolen, some wood stolen, and 1 entire permanent was actually taken as well.  :banghead:  :police:

My nephew has a home made perm that he never locks up either.  There is nothing in it when he leaves but the 4 walls.  Not a fancy thing but hey, it keeps the wind off of ya!  Folks have been known to use it and that is cool.  However the bass turds that used it for an out house were not cool at all!  You just have to wonder about some people and how their folks brought them up... or how stupid they got after they left their folks house.  OK... I am off the soap box now.  Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

It's to bad a guy cant just stuff the bastards down a ice hole and be rid of the bad genes they must have in them. Obviously they weren't brought up right. I never stay up late enough to watch for them when I'm out fishing to catch the bastards.
