Would anyone happen to have any extra ice fishing rods to teach my kids to ice fish at the get together on the 15th? I would hate to buy the gear and not have them like it. I dont have any gear because I do not ice fish. I could stop and buy whatever they need for bait but need someone willing to show them how to fish.
I am nervous because I have not been on the ice since I went through the ice in January 1989. I am making an exception for this get together.

I'm sure we will have plenty of stuff on the ice that day.
I always bring extra fishing poles with me, my son that is 10 will be along with me.
That's my son on pic of the week
You can borrow some of our stuff if you like, and my son and myself can show your kids how.
I'm sure there will be plenty of people that will be there to lend a hand.
My son being 1 :happy1: and me makes 2
Any other help, I'll be happy to do what I can.

I wouldn't worry about the ice, it'll be fine.

I'll make sure I have 6 to 8 rods extra, and the more kids the better. Cause it's all about them in my book!

I would just bring some wax worms, they work best for teaching kids.
If you don't want to stop, I will have plenty.

Some kids get squemish when you start impailing minnows with a hook.  :rotflmao:

Plus, they don't loose the bait that quick.

Pat or Tim send me an address and I will ship you a couple ice rods and reel setups. Act fast so I can get them out first thing in the am. They aren't brand new but they will work. I would hate to hear that you guys didn't have enough gear for the kids on the lake!

If I lived closer I would just head down but I will be catching crappies on a honey hole or two of mine!

Thank you bemidjiman, I sent you a pm earlier.

I will also have extra rods setup for anyone needing them, my dad will have extras as well.

Please don't let not having gear stop anyone from coming out, as a team we will have everyone covered.

Bait....... Yes, hunterdown nailed it allready. Waxworms are the easiest and usually the bait of choice on Peltier. Small crappie minnows work as well, but waxies will outfish a minnow 3 to 1 most of the time.
