Scents after the 1st kill

I was just wondering if anybody takes and uses the urine from the deer that you shoot?  Or any of their scent glands.  I have tried it a few times with mixed results.  The first few times I made the mistake of not wearing gloves while removing them, which more than likely led to them not working.   The last time worked on a few small bucks that didn't seem to want to leave.

I've got a friend that religiously uses scents/glands off deer kills. He says it works far better than anything off the shelf and he has tried about everything (so he says).

I haven't personally used the glands myself.

Every once in a while I'll remove the glands and use them, never had much luck though, at least I didn't see any difference.

I like to think that nothing beats a nice, ripe, stinky tarsail gland.  Haven't had much luck myself but you can't go wrong with a natural scent.

they are on the inside of the rear legs, kind of a flared out spot, its what the bucks piss on and rub their legs together on a scrape' advise don't get blood mixed with them, and the raw skin on the back side should get covered ie:duct tape, skin extra fur and rap it around the back, and it should be kept frozen or salted and dryed all while wearing rubber gloves OR just soak it in warm water and squeeze it into a bottle and you now have a buck lure................. :whistling:the secrete is out lol

I knew where they were located, but never investigated on how or what, to do with them.

If the kids get a buck this year, I'll have to look into it.
