1-1-09  With the cold weather, the lake has re-frozen the slush, and added ice back to the 14-16' range.  A two lane road has been plowed through from the West Access all the way to Crane Island.  Lots of activity around 4:30 am to dawn getting ready for that walleye bite..fatheads are the choice bait.  Crappies are suspended from 1 foot to 4 foot off the bottom in the deeper waters.  Wishing everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year! :snow5:

is there an access off county road 7? Where would you suggest going for some midday fishing entertainment for an 8 year old?

From CR7, you need to turn North on CR4 by the store. The public access is a few miles up the road from there.

Mid day the the sunfish have been bitting between Wilson Island and the West shore.

If you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, I would drive it. Becasue the access road is very slippery.
We came off the lake last night and we were helping push front wheel drive vans up the hill.

there are people walking out from the road north of the store, as the main road curves, there is a dirt road to the right..some drive off, but some are walking.  Don't know about walking out from the park on the north end?
