I'm curious, don't you have to be a resident of said county in order to qualify for these?  I only ask because I think I read something like that last year with the Douglas County tree sale.     But due to CRS, I can't remember.

I think your right Woody.

But, I think most counties have this program. Check yours to see if they do.

With the economy where it is at, I would encourage everyone to look at supporting private companies that sell trees...there are a lot of them.  If you call and talk to any of the private companies and ask them how they feel about government agencies selling products and services that compete against them and use tax payer money to do it...you will likely hear their frustrations as they are trying to make a living.

Government needs to get out of the selling products and services and let private companies make a living...and pay taxes.

The Minnesota budget deficit is expected to be in the 4 to 5 "billion" dollar range.  Support government to use our tax payer money to compete against private companies and maybe next year it will be 6 or 8 billion in the hole.

My company has been offering a fundraiser back to this web site for any purchases through their partner page.  Not only do you support a private company that pays taxes and offers jobs, but you also support this web site.

Private businesses greatly appreciate your support as we try to turn this economy around.

the top of the form says "you don't have to be a resident". however I took out the web address as I didn't notice the HabitatNow.com link on top of the webpage before that supported this website.

Private companies sure appreciate your support.  Obvioulsy it is the private companies and employees of these companies that pay the large part of the tax revenue.  Government and non-profits need to stop competing with private companies in this state.  It is not good for our economy or our communities.

Contact you local soil and water conservation for trees if you want to go that route.
