There were only 2 guys out there last night when I drove by.

I don't know about tonight, or tomorrow...But when people have to walk out, or get planks to get on the ice.....It tends to thin the crowds a bit.

Got the planks in the back of the truck, just in case the ice has pulled away from the shore.

I'll start by saying.... ....!!    Stayed dry on the lake today.  Thats a good thing right?  The ice is breaking away from the shore in the park but nothing an 8 foot plank of wood would not fix with some room to spare!  My dad and I went out today and met up with Hunterdown out on the ice.  Had some really high hopes on doing good.  Well, turn out Hunter was a fishing animal.  I on the other hand was NOT.  I switched jigs more times than Hunterdown caught fish.  I did however not get skunked.  Ended up with one keeper perch which I gave to Hunter.  In totall I probably iced around 6 fish.  Hunterdown even let me use a couple of his jigs.  I did not have any fishing mojo today.  I had a great time all the same.  The weather was great and the companions and conversation was even better.  Looking forward to a re-match with those fish.

It was a great afternoon on the ice...well sorta...walking out, I stuck my left leg up to my thigh in water. Seems the ice by shore couldn't support my fat   

But, I did end up catching my limit  of nice bluegills!
Fishing with DD, his dad and Jacob was very fun!
Good people make the experience more enjoyable!

The wife texted me on the lake to make sure I was bringing enough fish home for supper, and I didn't disapoint her! (and to check on me, for some reason she wanted to know where the insurance policy was) 

There is a good 18 inches of solid ice where we were fishing....but like DD said, the edges are pulling away.

So, if you're venturing out....please be carefull!

Well.....    I was by there last night for a drive.  The public landing off of 4 is no good.  The ice is out about 15-20ft now from the concrete ramps.  The shore line is breaking up and the ice looks really pot-marky if thats a word?  Honeycomb...eee!  LOL.  I did not see anyone out there but it was raining also.  Lots of wetness on the ice also.
