Anyone ever play? I actually just heard about this last week while fishing with a buddy on Minnetonka. At the beginning of the day everyone throws in 5, 10 bucks or whatever you want. You have a deck of cards in the boat and everytime someone catches a fish you draw a card. At the end of the day the best poker hand takes the pot. Would be great for ice fishing as well.

Fish Poker? .......Fish Poker?

The more I think about it the more stupid it sounds. That's why I think this is a brilliant idea. This is the kind of stuff that will fit right in with the variety of gimmicks I utilize out on the water while entertaining my clients.

If I told you guys half the gag stuff I have stashed in my boat you would probably think I was a nut case. :happybounce: Thanks for the Idea Tim. I will definitely add Fish Poker to my arsenal of tricks. I may have to carry two decks of cards for those days that we catch to many fish.  :happy1:

No Lee you can only hold five cards at a time but you can make up any rules you want like once you accumulate five cards you discard before or after your draw. or say a fish over 20" is worth two cards.

So, now you guys are going to make me stop and think. I was thinking of giving each person a card as they earned one by catching any legal size game fish. :fishing2: By end of 2 hours each player has accumulated as many cards as he/she has earned by catching 1 legal game fish per card.

Also I could start out by letting everyone draw 1 free card every 30 minutes so they will have a minimum total of 4 cards if they didn't catch a legal game fish (God forbid). This will be in addition to the cards they have earned.

I can set a timer for 2 hrs and when it goes off everyone will set down their best 5 card poker hand from the ones that they have accumulated during the 2 hr period.  Of course I will have a royal flush stuck in my back pocket that I've had there since we launched the boat.

There are a lot of different scenarios I will have to consider until I come up with the one that fits my needs.  :happy1:

No respect, I get no respect at all!

This morning when :queen: Borgie got up she looked out on the patio and asked what the  :censored: I was doing. Well I was getting ready for the fishing season I said. So, she had to come outside to see what was going on and I was spray painting some extra large bone shaped dog biscuits with gold paint.

She told me I was goofy and went back in the house. Those were for awards for some of my clients that out fish everyone else in the boat at days end. I call it the golden bone award. I just don't get no respect! :banghead:

tomcat,

Don't worry about letting go of the dollar. If you fish with my clients they will hold on to your ankles while you are hanging over the side. The dollar will be released I guarantee you. You see, most of my clients are from Chicago. :blues brothers:
