There are a lot of different types of hunters that are part of this site.  This Saturday is the opening day for whitetail deer firearm season.  What results are you hoping for?  Do you want a trophy buck, or nice eating doe, or are hoping that something just walks by the stand?

Please share your hopes or dreams.

I got a special kid hunting with me this year, and I hope she gets to at least see a deer, better yet, if she harvests one.

Me? I'm a doe hunter.....unless mister 160 walks by  :fudd:  :deer:

I am with HD.  I am going to work hard so that my boy (Jakergreen) gets to see a deer and hopefully harvest it.

If a monster walks by me and jakergreen is sitting with grandpa, I guess I could take one for the team and bring him down.   ;D

you would hate to spoil a new hunter with a monster their first time out... then what do they have to look forward too?   ;D

This will be my first year without a doe tag so I am hoping for a buck. Would definately like a mature animal but dont like to go home with nothing.

Bucks only in my area this year.  Lot of corn still standing.  We'll be fortunate to get a shot at a buck this year.  On the bright side, my 81 year old Dad decided to give it a try again this year.  I'm hoping a nice buck offers himself up for Dad.

Looking for some venison to put in the freezer. We have 3 doe tags for our group so we'll take a couple big does if they come along, otherwise we don't like to shoot anything smaller than a nice 8 pt for bucks normally. I guess that will be dictated by how much corn is still standing in the fields come Sat morning and if it cools down into next week so the big boys will start moving around again.

Im shooting whatever walks by... although I have never seen a doe in the spot I hunt.  This is my third year in that spot, I got two bucks (8 and 10) last year and my uncle got a buck (8 point out of the same stand) and a buck (spike) the year before.
