Drop Down Fish House Ideas?

As of right now, I'm getting my wheel house frame welded up.
It will be 8' X 16', with a "V" nose, so with the furnace in the front...I will have aprox. 14 feet of floor space to work with.

So, I'm kicking around ideas for design and layout.

What do you think ?

How high should the walls be?
Placement of cabinets?
Placement of bunks? Drop down bunks?
How many windows?
How many holes?
Placement of doors?
Cargo doors in the back?

how much does the frame cost? me and my dad are thinking about buying a drop down but we could build it to ( my dad owns his own remodeling buisness )

I priced out materials for the frame today. ruffly between 2000 to 2500

That includes jacks, pins, lights, axles and tires etc...frame complete

     Hunterdown, I would go with drop down everything.  That is a nice size house.  They are like boats.  You look at them on the show room floor and they are huge.  Once you start getting your gear in there and a couple of people everything shrinks.  I like the idea of a ramp on the back so you can haul or store an atv in there.  You can hide extra holes under the drop down tables and bunks.  Try to keep the floor as open as possible.   Good for you.  I can't wait to see the progress.

I'd also put the cabinets up front in the V.  You can have you batteries up there and inverter if you're going that direction.  I my self would put a futon along the back wall that way it can be removed or moved around the house if you load the wheeler.  I'd also have the door to go in and out on one side of the V.  That way you can get an extra hole in the house.

The smaller and lighter it is the more fishing you can do. I like small windows at eye level when seated that offer viewing in all directions. It is nice to be able to tell if that screaming snowmobile is headed right at you at night.  Make sure you put all your stuff inside and put down a box of beer in it with your buddies before you make layout decisions.

I think my biggest complaint from fishing in different houses is the placement of the holes. Some

 holes are down right uncomfortable if your not left handed, this was in a house with the holes

 directly in all four corners, with the benches in the middle of the side walls. I also think the drop

 down bunks save alot of room. Good luck
