Stokes Bay-2012 The summary

  As I write this report the last group of die hards to leave will be heading for home tomorrow am.  I would say the fishing was really good.  I ended up fishing for walleye except for the morning of my last day.  I did some crank trolling for what ever in the channel to Kettle falls but came up empty,  The rest of the time I was hitting the reefs with bottom bouncer spinner rigs unless there was no wind.  I would then use crawler jigs,   Crawlers were the ticket for me.  I saw many more crappies (13"+) come in this year from the guys trolling cranks on the east side of the bay.  I had a great time and was happy to find out the boat is finally trustworthy again..  (Provided I put the plug in).

That's one shady lookin bunch of characters you've managed to assemble there. How did they all make it across across the border?

   The cameraman avoids getting his picture taken.  With all those crime shows now a days I find it  best to keep a low profile.  Same with jealous husbands.    The border crossing was easy because I vouched for these guys.  Getting back into the US without me will be a different story.  They were a motley crew going in.  Just imagine what they will look like coming out.

   There was in fact one uncontested true hero this week.  The dragon flies were relentless at keeping our camp bug free.  They combed the grass in the afternoon picking off any flying bug that was stupid enough to take a chance.  I would walk through the longer grass and shake branches just to kick up a few extra mosquitoes for them.    Grant, the on site Stokes Bay administrator said that one week ago you couldn't stand to be outside in the afternoon.  The skeeters and flies had been horrible.  Dragon Flies are the hero's of this years trip.
