Has anybody gotten their soil and water order forms to buy trees in the mail yet?
I was thinking that it should be around the time to get them. And I plan on buying & planting a few hundred this year. I went on line and typed in (googled) my county and found the form and printed it out.

Maybe they are trying to save trees by not sending out order forms?

Are you planning on getting any?
Is there a better place to get bare root trees?

last time i did it.. i missed the chisago ordering and had to go with isanti. if you find a better source for it, please let  me know.. i've had decent luck with the bare root.  we've been picking up bigger fruit trees at fleetfarm when they're on sale the last few years.

We always order our trees from http://www.itascagreenhouse.com/  and have near 100% servival rate. I think we payed less than 27 cents per tree and planted 1000 in 4 hours.
Here is a picture of the planter we bought from them

Here is a tree with the little plug of dirt.

Like dakids, we usually get around 500 trees/bushes from Itasca Green house every year.  I spent a lot of time humped over a planting bar.  I really helps to have two people.  One makes the hole and stomps it shut, the other handles the trees.

But that's a drive for me to get them....Will they ship?

They are in cohassett which is a mile or 3 west of grandrapids. They do ship.  In the link that i posted up above the shipping link is on the left side near the bottom.

Thanks Jerry....I found it

Looks like if I purchase the same amount of trees from them as from the soil and water, the price will be around the same with shipping. BUT....the survival rate with soil and water is lower than Itasca.

What to do.....what to do.....

With the planter that we have you could plant all 200 in 2 to 3 hours.  bare root might take longer.

Depends on where here is. I could borrow you our planter and depending on what day you want trees i might be up north and could save you shipping and pickup trees for you
