I know guys that swear by that technique - one rigged up an old umbrella to look like a turkey fan and you are able to stalk up on the strutting Tom's in the field.  They will come after you or charge you if they dont want you in the area.
Once I find some land with some Turkeys ill be having to try something to get one on the ground.
