I just finished putting together two more double ladder stands.  I make a few modifications to them.  You can see in the picture I add a four foot piece of 4x4 to the bottom ladder section.  This does a couple things.  First it makes the stand 4 feet higher and gives it a better base that doesn't sink in the ground. I simply bore a 1.25" hole in the 4x4, chisel a little for a corner and pound them on.  This also allows me to nail a board from the top of the 4x4 to the tree which greatly enhances the stability.  The plywood is added to shield some foot movement.

 I got a 2 man that I stole the legs off of, to make an identical stand higher. I tried to get new ones from the manufacturer, but the model is obsolete. I'm gonna build me one of these!  :happy1:
