I thought it might be interesting to "watch" a food plot through mowing, spraying, disking, planting, etc.  Not sure if this plot will work but I will keep posting pictures as it develops.

JUNE 9 - Mowing what survived the previous year.

JUNE 14 - Neighbor spraying roundup.

JUNE 18 - First sign of vegetation dying.

JUNE 20 - Deer doing a fast plot check out.

JUNE 26 - Almost dead.

JUNE 30 - So dead only a turkey could love it.

JULY 11 - Disking.

JULY 11 - Planting.

Food plot pictures updated 8/1/2019

First good signs of green plant growth.

Deer might just not let it grow.

Very late for baby cranes.

Looks like it will turn into a food plot yet.

Good for you DE!   :happy1: I won't be doing any food plots this year...the kids are all gone (empty nesters) and nobody to help with the daily chores.....so, that's one that has to slide....

The plot has potential but I need to thin the herd a bit for it to survive.

Some nice bucks mixed in the herd

The word must be getting out as there are more every day.

No real visual change to the plot.  Turnips and radishes are growing nice bulbs.

Turkeys and deer share the plot

Deer are really raising hell on the plot. Not sure what will survive to maturity

I think I posted some food plot timeline pictures on different threads. Here are a couple
more to complete the one year time line.  If you follow the timeline you can see the deer
first ate the turnip tops then continued throughout the winter digging the turnips.  Spring
thaw didn't stop them and there still eating remnants well into April.
