Signs of old age.

      Talking with my coffee drinking buddies, we discussed how you knew you were old. I can think of several possibilities.

   Was it  when I got the senior citizen discount without being asked if I wanted it?

      Was it when the bartender stopped asking me for ID to prove I am old enough?

      Was it when I realized I can snack off the food that fell in to my gray beard for a couple of hours after I eat?

      Maybe it was when a small child pointed to me and said "Santa?".

      What do you think?

Retiring from your lifelong job
Arthritis complaints
Taking lots of Meds
Losing most of your hair
Eating smaller portions

I didn't know if I should read this thread.  LOL  You all hit it on the head.  OR how about when you talk to your buddies after awhile and the talk ends up being about how you feel and what hurts.

• I'm officially "You look good for your age" years old.
• You barely do anything all day, but you still need to take a nap to continue doing barely anything.
• You wake up with that "morning after" feeling when there was no "night before".
• You know you're old when you're entering your birth year online and have to spin taht think like you're on the Wheel of Fortune.
• You know you're getting older when your favorite kind of plans are cancelled plans.
• Every time you pass a bathroom you think: "I may as well pee while I'm here".
• Your kids start looking middle-aged
• You know you're getting old when your injuries are the result of sleeping weird.
• If you fall down, people panic and run to help.
• You use the word "thingy" all the time because you can't remember what things are called.

     

Bonus:  Your progeny shoots bigger bucks than you do.

It has advantages, too. I no longer need a pheasant stamp or a trout stamp. I buy the senior small game and trapping licenses.

One of my buddies told us it's easier to chase women now that most of them use walkers.

The first time I realized I might be getting old was last September when I fell and fractured my spine. Still hoping to get past that feeling.
