What the Viking's defense pulled off Sunday hadn't been done since 2006. Teams that have 3 picks & O touchdowns rarely get the W.  :cheerleader:

The defense bailed them out by getting the Jags off the field, but the other key to winning was the offense holding the ball (despite not scoring touchdowns).  Vikes offense had it for 42:19, which is the most in the NFL this season.

Looks like it was just an injection not surgery for JJ.  I read from some guy that the Vikes are trying to sign Justin Fields.  May all be BS for him to get clicks.... 19 mil a year.

Plenty of quarterbacks around who can't play. No need to spend over 5-7 million for one.

 I didn't find anything on Justin Fields maybe wearing purple anywhere, LPS. I did read that there's a good chance that the Vikes/Arizona game on Thanksgiving weekend will get flexed to Monday night though. Another said we could see more of a 2 TE set from KO'C today as that takes away a lot of of the 2 deep safety look & that should cut down on JJ getting doubled teamed so much too. The Titans do have the best passing D in the league allowing only 156.7 yds/gm, but are about the middle of the pack against the run. :cheerleader:

That's why I said it was just from some guy about Fields.  I have not seen anything else about it so he was just trying to get clicks.

It would be nice to see them put the boot on the throat of bad teams, but they just don't seem to have it in them.

There have been several games this season where all they needed to do was grind out a 5 minute drive in the 4th quarter to put the game away, and they just can't do it.  They find a way to make it tense.

The Vikes have their third "trap game" in a row coming up with da Bears.  :blues brothers:  The 4-6 Bears are literally 2 plays away from being 6-4 (a Hail Mary pass and a blocked field goal).  And the Bears beat the Vikes at home last year.

Not going to be anything easy about the Bears game.

Hollar fire (trap game) enough and eventually the building will come down.

The team is 8-2 I believe. There isn't one guy or gal who posts herein July wouldn't have been doing cartwheels if you told them this is where they would be. Don't be fooled, the Bears secondary is weak. If the line holds Darnold will pick them apart like a day old Turkey. This is a game where Jefferson could go for 150, Hockenson 80 and Addison 100 yards. Now if they can convert that into 35 points is a different discussion.

Ya ain't wrong, DB!   :cheerleader:  But a trap game is a trap game and next week's game with da Bears :blues brothers: is another trap game.

The last three Vikings games were wins, but not convincing wins, against below average teams.  They still have a lot to clean up from an offensive perspective - the biggest being figuring out how to rejuvenate the run game with Darisaw out.

Lets hope you are right about the Bears secondary, that Sammy won't throw it right to 'em, and that the pass game will open up the run for Jones and the boys.

What's up with Chandler ? Think I only seen him once or so on a punt return or kick off yesterday.  He seams to be streaky,  some games when he played ( even last yr) had some really nice runs. They sure are leaning on Akers and Jones, might as well try Ty to give the old guys a break, never know..

I stand corrected (again).  :embarrassed:

The unofficial sports definition of a "trap" game is playing a bad team with a good team coming up the following week.  The idea is that they overlook the bad team and are already thinking about playing the better team next week.  That's the trap.

Since the Colts, Jags, Titans and Bears are all bad teams, the Colts, Jags, and Titans games were not "trap" games, per se.  However, the Cardinals are a good team, so does that make the Bears game a "trap" game?

Hell, I don't know.  The Vikings - on paper and with their record - are better than the Cardinals too.  But I'm sure this Vikings team got the message that even bad teams in the NFL know how to buck hard, and they're not good enough to take any team lightly.  One game at a time.

'Cause y'er right, Glenn, on any given Sunday...

 The Bears are 13th in Total Defense with 328 yds/gm, the Vikings are 10th. But the Bears have been much better against the pass, 9th with 197 yds/gm, than the run where they are 23rd with ~ 130 yds/gm.

The thing I love about stats and rankings......they mean nothing. The only stat that matters is the final score. You either have the bigger number or smaller number. Chicago might put up 40 this weekend, or they may get shut-out.

I agree and all of the projections aren't much better than what we the fans predict.  Still part of the hype and fun to prove the experts wrong.  For example the Vikes predicted to be a 6.5 win team.  ????

It'd be nice to see them get 100+ yds on the ground this week again. Hope there's a lot purple in the stands like last week too. The TV guys said a couple times that it was almost like a home game for the Vikings last week. :cheerleader:

yeah, I was looking at team stats like 'total offense' and 'run offense' and 'pass offense' a couple of days ago to see how they might stack up Chicago this week.  The thing that struck me was that in the categories I was looking at, the Vikes were a middle-of-the-pack team.  That didn't seem to agree with their 8-2 record.

Turns out they rank 10th in offense scoring, which matters much more than yards gained.   ;)

I will be tuned into KFAN for the Friday Football Feast.  Will be a lot of good Vikes Bears talk.  Good background noise.

Been seeing some grumblings that Arron Rogers may be a future quarterback for the Vikings. Who knows????? A guy asked a few years ago who was going to be the next QB for the Vikes and I told him Jim McMahon. He fell out of his chain laughing. Three months later I was laughing at him. Just goes to show anything can happen in the NFL. :happy1: :happy1:

I saw the Rodgers talk, too.
The thought is that Darnold could get an offer from one of the teams floundering with a qb and he could get a multi year contract. Maybe the Jets would take him back.
Don’t think the Vikings would really want to bring an old primadonna in with all the crap he’d bring with him. Especially if McCarthy looks like a possibility as starter. Can’t see Karen agreeing to be second string.
