So I think a few of us should try and get out last ice and see if we can't find some of those beautiful Mille Lacs crappies! Anyone do this late ice?? I heard of the crappie bite picking up lately in Isle Bay but not a lot of fisherman out there. I bet with the walleye season done things will change and more will be on the search.

We used to make a Mille lacs run every year. I used to have family in wahkon so we came through about 3 times a year. I always tried to plan one late ice. My uncle and his boys knew how to hit it and we would catch limits of crappies none being under 12' and a lot in the 14-15 range. I hear they still do it but with all the additions to the family life isn't as easy to get around anymore.
