We got out on the water about 6:30 a.m.  Tried to launch at the Wealthwood access but the wind from the south made it a little rough (The Weatherman said calm winds) so we moved to the north Garrison access.  We fished the sand between MyrMar reef and the wealthwood access.  20 - 27 feet.  We had to sort through a lot of slot fish (not complaining) to get our 8 keepers.  Just about everyone we saw were catching fish.  A long snelled colored hook with an attractor  bead and leech caught most of the fish but we also caught them on two hook crawler harnesses with a hammered silver #2 corlorado blade.  There was a tournament on the lake and that combined with the hot bite on the lake resulted in all accesses (especially on the west side) overflowing.  I have personally never seen so many trailers at Terry's boat harbor and the Casino access.  I also saw a lot of boats on the Matton flat so the mud is going as well.
I fish not because I regard fishing as being so terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant - and not nearly as much fun.? Robert Traver "Anatomy of a Fisherman"

Ditto on all that Shakey..it was a great weekeend on Mille Lacs.  8:30 to 9:30 pm was ridiculous on the sand.  (alot of hungry, aggressive little males)
