A lake not far from here has all but been killed. I havn't been and seen for myself but a friend of mine had his house there awhile back and said after he cut his hole dead fish started filling it. Had sunnies, bass and northern float into his hole. Now I don't think the entire lake was killed. Actually it's a chain sort of lakes. I'm guessing some of the basins and river channels would have fish in them yet. Most of the lakes are just shallow flats with lots of emergant vegitation in the summer. Anyhow I don't expect good fishing like in the past few yrs.

I can't think of the real name of the lake as everybody just calls it mud. Anyway it's just north of new london. If some one can think of the name help me out.

Griz, everybody calls it Mud, even my GPS calls it Mud. I've hunted it before for ducks. You have to watch out for the floating bogs so they don't run over your decoys.

Have heard the same thing about Cody Phelps (Twin lakes) just outside of Lonsdale.  They say that the areators were turned off to insure that the rough fish (carp) would kill off as well.  Gonna be a stinky one when the wind is from the south southwest this spring!  Used to be able to stand on the bridge in spring and catch nice pan size walleye.  Not this year apparently.  Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

Shutting aereators off to kill carp is a dumb idea. They will be one of the last ones to die.
