if you are looking for regular scale, try office max or
office depot. a mail scale would work for you.

I fish a few tourneys for sunfish and a couple for crappies. This have the a weigh in at the end and it is really hard to eye-ball they same year class

Pretty easy when you have to all the 12" crappies and 10 gills but when trying to fill the bag with all of the smaller ones it would be nice to weight them out

Exactly

I just bought a powder scale and it should be accurate to 1/70,000ths of a lb.

How many lbs would you be weighting? The one I bought won't even weight a whole lb.

Crappies and sunnies are normally under a pound
I would lke to use it for other fish but it would be nice to be able to know the difference of a .54 fish and a .53 fish

The 10th of an once would be nice but you really pay for the accurcy...
Look like there are some affordable ones that will weight by the full gram with a 5lb max...

these are platform scales.. With my looks I think I will have to get my Mom to buy it they might not sell it to me... Looked at a used one but it was covered in white powder  :whistling:

I bought a Brand New shipping scale on E-Bay for about $40.00 with shipping. It's a Ultra Ship-75. It goes up to 75# but will also weigh a piece of paper. I Love it so far. (They have them in 40# scales also) The one I got has a detachable face so you can pull it away in case you have a big box and are unable to see the numbers. It also has a easy zero button so you can weigh the box, zero it out, then weigh your fish or whatever. It's only 8" x 9" in size also. These also come with No White Powder. ;D

Ya we dont want to buzz the fish !!!

So in the quest for a decent scale at a cheap price that was able to to this I thought I would be stuck using a postal scale .. A little bigger than I wanted to use but I contact a few companies one being Raven Scales they have a scale that will measure .02 differences with a minnium weight of 20 grams. This is a hanging scale more common to weighing fish and it is digital

Here is what I recieved from them when I sent the question to them

Hi,
Thank you for yoru interest. The scale works very good at .44 .55lbs as you suggest. I believe the minimum is .02 of a lb....Here is what I did...I put a 50 gram weight and it measured perfectly, and locked in (aprox. .14lbs with the bag I had the calibration weight in.) I then tried a 20 gram weight. It weight it, but did not lock in. I tried a 10 gram weight, but it did not weigh it.
I hope that was helpful. It is extrememly accurate within.02lb. Sensitivity: 0.02lb / 0.01kg I hope the above helps.
Tim

Cost on this scale is roughly $18
I will buying one and testing it this spring
