I have the rims off the Lil Mrs MGB and want to get them painted.  Should they be baked on so as to make the paint a bit stronger so that they do not chip first time we put the tires on?  If so where can I have this done and how much is that little venture gonna cost me?  I am fixin to get them sandblasted first of course.  Thanks././Jimbo

my limited knowledge would be call a paint store and ask
them what kinda paint. i would tend to think a epoxy
based paint would do it. me being me would just paint
them with enamel and maybe clear coat over the paint.

I agree with BH. Call a paint store and/or body shop to see what is reccomended.

My family has a shop just outside Dinkytown.  They dip the rims in some kind of a powder coat, It is solid not a detail custom paint deal.  The dip frames of vehicles, trailers, and misc pieces of metal.  They do a large business but the colors are limited.  I will get you info if your interested

I was wondering about powder coat... do they have silver?  Would it hold up well?  Estimate on what 5 rims would cost?  You could PM me with that if you want.  Thanks././Jimbo

after watching american chopper, they chipped the
powder coat, so i suppose it could be a problem.
wouldnt be that much work after prep to paint them
yourself, worth a try.

Hey ducky, you should know by now, these cars cost around $500 a month just to have them parked in your garage.   :rotflmao:
I just spent over two grand on mine and it hasn't been driven since last fall.

As long as ya figure all the hours that I have put in on it since it found it's way into the garage last fall as slave labor, that is about right!  Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo
