Hockey Questions.....
I kinda consider myself pretty much a hockey freak goin back to watchin Gump Worsley play without a mask and Goldsworthy doin his shuffle, with my dad at the met as a kid, but I got two questions for youse guys...(too lazy to do a web search) #1, Why do they call the Montreal Canadians the "Habs".... and #2, what is with the foot/footprint on the shoulder of the Colorado Avalanches jersey's?  Other than these two things I consider myself a great hockey mind...(in my own mind)  :whistling: But seriously, these two things have bugged me for quite a while.... :banghead:

i don't know about the canadians "habs" part... but the avs foot on their sweaters is I believe in reference to bigfoot, or sasquatch.

"Habs"-
French nicknames for the team include Les Canadiens, Le Bleu-Blanc-et-Rouge, La Sainte-Flanelle, Le Tricolore, Les Glorieux, Les Habitants and Le Grand Club. In English, the main nickname is the Habs (coming from "Les Habitants").

Foot-
The foot is actually the footprint of the Avalanche's abominable snowman mascot Howler

Thanx guys... I knew you'd come thru for me... Ok Woody, I dont speak french, but i think i figured out some of the first knick names there, the blue and red, the three colors, the glory, but what would the habitants be?  The habitators?  Weird....
