O.K. , the big day is almost here.  What time does everyone start fishing?  I personally like to sleep in--until atleast 6:30 ish, LOL.

I'm an early bird here. Most times I hit the lake at midnight and fish all the way through and then all day and evening. If we skip the midnight deal, we usually are on the water around 5ish.

This year I am meeting up at about 6:30am and going out. Usually depending on weather I love to take the midnight voyage to one of my bobber hot spots and watch the lighted bobbers go down. There is nothing better than watching a lighted bobber go down! Just thinking about it gets me excited. I then sleep in and head out after noon about 1pm usually. That alwasy seems to be a good time to fish 1-3pm. Had some of my best fishing in those hours. Anyways, I could go on but I think I answered the question! :happy1:

1st fish of last years opener!

usually we are in the boat and headed to our spot by 11:30 p.m. but this year we might try something different.  we are going to a new lake for opener this year and the park manager invited us to try shorefishing at midnight.  just sit back with a cocktail and catch fish is how he expained it to me so we will see how that works out.

I looked through the regs and could not find anything that said you can't be on the water with gear before midnight.  Mille lacs was the only exceptoin

What happened to those posts?

Anyways, Yes that is true with Mille Lacs. They don't want you on the water with any fidhing gear before 12am on the opener and then that Sunday they want you off at 10pm....or is it Monday.

Sorry guys, I deleted my own post not to confuse anyone. I thought about it and knew I was half wrong and didn't want to give out false information to the readers.

I'm so used to fishing Mille Lacs on and near opener that I confused the regs with the rest of the state.

My fault.  :imstupid:
