While Crow Lake continues her gradual thaw we are seeing a few boats taking advantage of the pockets of open water. The trout bite has been slow for most but this should change as the water warms and the ice recedes. One bright spot is that the Crappies are biting excellent on Lake of the Woods. Hay Island was excellent today and the crappies were more than willing to bite. We found them in thirty seven feet of water and continued our pattern of small glow jigs tipped with a minnow. No finnicky fish today.
