Good thing I also golf!!!!  Walleye limits in less than 2 hours, all 16 - 19 inch eaters and released 6 that were too big, up to 27 inches.  Last time opener was this good was 1996 and there was ice on the lake then also.  Ice is out to about 30 feet of water, maybe 4 miles out of the Gap.  Anchor with a jig, or a sinker & spinner in the current, tip it with a minnow and have a blast.

I had a crew of 2 adults and 2 kids this am at 7:30 and we got back with 20 walleye, 1 sauger and 2 northern, and released 6 over 19 1/2, returning to the dock a little after 9am.  We anchored in Four Mile Bay about 800 yards from the docks in 16 feet of water.  Gold jigs were probably the best.
