Stupid squirrel.
It came bouncing out right in front of us as I was walking the dog last night. I couldn't believe how close we got before the squirrel turned and went back into the woods. Thinking the squirrel was long gone I walked the dog over to the edge of the woods to let her sniff around in the tall grass and all of a sudden the dog goes nuts, I hear a squeal and the dog almost jumps straight up in the air. She dives back into the tall grass and grabs a hold of it and gives it the death shake. She came out of there with a lot of blood all over her snoot, but I walked her over to the pond and washed her up and she was fine. It stopped bleeding by the time I got home. The squirrel got his lick in but paid the ultimate price.
Stupid squirrel.

If your dog has had the rabbies vacine then your ok, but if not you might want to have the squirrel checked for rabbies.

I bet there are a lot of dead tree rats due to this, Mandy will look at them and watch them till they get into the back yard. Then she will chase them out.

If it's out in the front or some where else she just egnores them.

She's up to date on her shots. In fact she had all her shots for this year 3 days ago. I talked to the vet today and he explained that squirrels and other small rodents rarely have rabies. Plus he added since she's up to date on her shots, the only thing I should worry about is infection of the bite area...............Stupid squirrel.
