How is everyone doing on the water?  I have not had much motivation to get the boat out of the garage and get it wet lately.  I have not heard many good reports.  The spring fishing is too good and the fall hunting is too much fun to have much motivation to spend hot sticky hours on the lake trying numerous tactics to catch a few fish.  Maybe I am just a wimp, but gas prices and the area I live in have me down about getting to the lakes I like to fish around the Chisago to Rush City area.  Plus the metro just doesn't seem to do it for me with all the over fished overly busy lakes!  I really haven't heard of any good bites any where eaither.  Must be the Summer Slump!  I think I might need the outdoorsman version or prozac!

Sounds like me Sten (except the over fished metro lakes).  I think there are many VERY GOOD metro lakes/rivers to fish for numbers and size.  But I have only been out once all year.  Kinda sad.  I am going to wait until spring and then sell my boat.  It's been out twice in the past 2 years.   :fishing:

Sten, Dave,

I hit it hard early with my brother in the metro area, mainly Victoria area for Bass. We did quite well, boated a couple 18, one 19, 2- 20'", and I caught my personal best of 21" on a colder temperature lake on bass opener. We did not go out in July, and have gone a few times up north for panfish on our cabins lake with decent success.

Alas, my fishing partner and brother is overseas for work in London, so I am screwed for the season. Just getting in gear for hunting now, and maybe some fall fishing on the mississippi.

I sure have seen alot of boats for sale this year!

Marry an outdoors woman. Then if you throw her out into the yard on a cold night, she can still survive.

I agree, boats have been moving!  I have thought about selling mine as well, but it is a cheap for of entertainment for me I guess.  I broke the Summer Slump and slipped to my Dad's Cabin at 3:30 Am monday morning in Perrault Falls, Ontario.  I just got back today.  The fishing was decent.  We always caught fish and managed a couple limits of eater sized Walleyes so I cannot complain.  My dad also caught a 42" Northern that he was pretty proud of.  I wish i would have had more time because we kept running into jumbo perch while fishing for Walleyes.  I wish i would have been able to spend a day or two targeting them because they were monsters to the tune of 13".  :happy1:  Tomorrow I hope to get the time to post a few pictures I took up there.
