I have an inside source that says Favre will be a Viking very soon. I'd bet money on it too.

I don't want to give up any high draft picks either.

I heard this will be decided one way or another by Monday.  The commish is pushing a resolution.  Favre+Vikes=Super Bowl chance.  Tarvaris+Vikes=FRUSTRATION.  We are entering year 48 without a Super Bowl.  Ugh.  All we need is a QB & maybe a reliable receiver (Rice, Wade & Berrian are good?).  A coach wouldn't hurt either.

hell I'm all for favre coming here. With the roster we have no we actually would have a chance. I would also love to be in lambeau at the first home game..lol..I think they would burn the place down if farve ends up here and if I were rodgers I would demand a trade, Because he has no prayer of happiness there after this mess.

then i think this is aaron rogers last year on the packers roster, if i was him i wouldnt put up with this joker anymore, i mean your drafted in the first round (i beleive he was like 32nd overall) and suppose to be the QB of the future but the guy of the present 18 years wont go away, says he retires then does then comes back. :doah: if they dont want rogers ill think the vikes should give up something to get him, i think he will be a good NFL QB

Am I missing something here, everyone is assuming that the Packers are allowing Favre to compete for the starting job in GB. Nothing has changed yet, the commissioner is simply reinstating Favre to the NFL ecause he retired, he was on the retired list and could not play anywheres until reinstated. Once reinstated at noon Monday, he has to report to green Bay because of his contract, Green Bay has 3 choices, keep him, trade him or release him.

The commish forced this once he agreed to reinstate Favre, the packers have 24 hours to make a decision.

I have read nowhere that any decision has been made, everyone is assuming that he is getting his job back, but the Packers have said numerous times that Rodgers is the starter.

This aint over yet, he will either be traded or released in 24 hours. Gree Bay will come out ok in this i think, someone will offer them a nice package for the rights to Favre.

I would love to see Farve win a SB or even just play with the Vikes. Think of all the ammo we would have against those cheese eating freaks. I just would love to hear a Packer fan finaly tell me that Farve was washed up. It would be like some sort of awesome dream!

The bad thing is, all those Cheeseheads will give it to ya if the Vikes lost OR won with him, youd never hear the end of it... "yeah... ya couldnt win a superbowl so ya had to get Favre to do it..."  or.... HA HA!  we stole yer draft picks unloaded his salary and you losers still suck and didnt make the playoffs!  Its a lose/lose situation.... If it takes a Favre to win a BOWL... I dont want to win one! :kermit:

Boo.  Go Favre!  I think there's little to no chance it will happen.  I don't care what it takes to win a SB.  I have been a Viking fan.  Nuff suffering.  Let's win one finally.  For the love of Christmas, Tampa Bay has a ring!!!!!!!!!!!

farve has been added to the green bays roster, passed his physical. i dont want him here all he is doing is creating problems for the packers. and yes we dont have a ring but like pout said if it takes bringing in a 18year overpaid veteran then i dont want it, and would rather wait. and it aint like tampa bay had a hard team to beat!

Tarvaris is nothing more than a Doug Williams, Andre Ware Kordell Stewart.  Good arm, average ability.  He will not be the answer anytime soon.  I was a believer last year after seeing limited action in 2006.  He's a head case like Culpepper ended up being.  We need a proven vet to finally get over hump.  We have EVERYTHING this year except a proven QB, WRs are decent.  Coaching is suspect.  Overall we have a shot with quality QB play in my humble opinion.

how many years did it take farve to finally get it right, how about aikmen, peyton manning, eli manning, or even steve young? all im saying is that he just last year got a season under his belt, now jackson has some weapons i.e no williamson to drop wide open pass's or to tip them to defenders. he is getting his feet in the nfl and as long as he is not held back by the coaching staff i strongly beleive you will all see a different qb. just wait till friday even if it is a preseason game you will see a new jackson on the first series

I hope you are right.  He's the man and needs to justify making more in his 3 years in the NFL than I will in my lifetime (probably).  Time to prove ones self.  The coach also needs to prove himself.  This experiment needs to prove successful or end so I hope you are right!  '70s we good.  '98 was good.  How about a SB??!!  Dag nabbitt!

I don't think T-Jack is at the level of Farve, Aikman, or other Hall of Famers yet.  Even if T-Jack is average this year, the Vikings will go far.  Our defense will be awesome this year.  I can't wait to see how having Allen on the defensive line will improve the whole team.  The Ravens won a Super bowl with their great defense and no QB.  T-Jack is better then Trent Dilfer.  This should be a fun year.

I think Farve is a great QB.  I started out thinking I would love to see him play for the Vikes.  Now with all this media, it would be a huge distraction for whatever team lands him (plus the Packers will have it hanging over them all season).  I now think it might be better for the Vikes to avoid that situation.
