Holy guacamole, I can not remember the last time it was as dead as a ghost town around here. As a matter of fact, it was so dead around here, that the fish flies where the only thing moving around here. Wow, I just put up $1500.00 dollars worth of new signs on Hwy #169 and I think it scared everyone away. The new vacancy sign was out on the road, as I had 4 cabins available this weekend and 20 RV sites and the cars and trucks just kept flying on by. What I think it has come down too is, just riding out this economic recession, like everyone is.

It is not the first time, in this business and I am certain that it will not be the last. Sales of lots are pretty dead also, I have dropped the prices considerably, on my RV lots and Cabins. These are really, really affordable prices. Times are really bad for a lot of people, and believe me; we feel your pain also. Maybe when they put all of the big oil guys behind bars and get gas back down to where it should be, things can and will turn around. It always does. I mean all of the gas needs to come down, heck if we lived in Venezuela, we would be paying 28 cents a gallon for gasoline and 2 cents for propane and natural gas. What is up with that?

The Walleye fishing is still just a night time thing. There is very little walleye action during the day, but the small mouth bass are still biting very well. The musky bite is just starting to pick up during the twilight times in the morning and evening. I have a cabin available for the weekend and maybe, just maybe the weatherman will get it right for this weeks forecast and not terrify everyone with dangerous heat warnings. It was a perfect weekend on the lake this past weekend in the low 80 degree range and with the breeze off of the lake, it was perfect and there was no one around.

Remember too that the BIR drag races are this weekend in Brainard. So if you are going to head up 169, you will drive right past my place, it is right at mile marker 219. Make sure stop on by the Bar and Grill, and have a cold one on your way up.

I would also like to say; Thank You! to all of our regular customers and friends that kept us a float this weekend. We are eternally great full.

Have a great week

We will see ya
