I hear ya GG, my youngest starts Kindergarten in the morning and i'm flipping out here, I'm so nervous for him and sad too. I have him in all day classes because of my schedule and being a single parent, so half days were not an option for me.

Oldest just started 8th grade today....... Time does fly!

Spinach,
You just about made me loose it again when I read your reply.  The whole being nervous for him and sad at the same time...I know EXACTLY what you are talking about!  I can't believe you have to send him to ALL day kindergarten, I know a lot of parents do that, and I feel SO lucky that I didn't have to do that with Joey this year...I am just so NOT ready to have him gone all day!  Next year is going to kill me, for sure!  I will be thinking about you guys tomorrow, I hope it goes good Pat!  One of these day's I'd like to get the boys together again...Joey would love that.  Maybe someday when they don't have school or something or you just need someone to watch him for you, Alex could come over and spend the day with Joey.  I know they would have a blast!  Let's for sure try to do that!

Good luck tomorrow Pat!  Here's a tissue from me!   Hell, just take the whole damn box!  Trust me, your going to need it!

LMAO Jenny! I loved your Holy :censored: response, and I knew the "novel" comment was coming....but, you know me, I just have to get my point across somehow!  It just seems to take YOU a little while longer than most to actually get my point!...Or I just think you possibly know exactly how to bring out the best in me Jenny, and you are quite good at it!! :fudd:

And regarding your question...with all that, does it even seem like they leave me during the day?
Absolutely!  I'm pretty use to doing 10 things at once, if I only have one thing to do, it will never get done, if I have 10 things-they all get done!  It just the way I work!

...also, I see nothing wrong with Oprah or Bon Bons...!  :rotflmao:
What the hell is a "bon bon" anyway?  ....

  • AKA "Outdoors Junkie"

My two boys have been in school for a few years now.  My one daughter started kindergarden last week.  My youngest daughter started preschool today.  So, three days a week my wife has an empty house between 8:00 am and 10:45 am.  She was a little teary eyed this morning.  I can't believe how quickly they are growing up.  My oldest boy is 12 and started 7th grade this year.  I keep thinking that we only have 5 more year left before he leaves us and heads to college.  That is going to be gut wrenching!!!

OJ, I'm kind of in the same position as your wife, now I also have some free time too everyday between 8:20 and 11:20...So the house is only quiet for a little while, although my little boy seems a little lost without his older brother attached him every minute of the day.  They are kinda like two peas in a pod, you don't usually see one without the other, and they always seem to be in their own little world together.  I think my daughter is so happy to be back in school, just so she can be away from her brothers and finally with some other little girls.

Time sure does go by fast though...way too fast for me.  It's is so much fun watching them grow up, but it also kinda of breaks your heart a little bit each time they grow a little more...

sounds like someone needs to get a job. :roflmao:
My thoughts exactly!! :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :rotflmao:

I feel your pain a little bit. My boy starts pre school (2 days a week)this year and will be about the first one on the 1 hour+ bus ride to school. That makes me a little nervous. That means he gets on at about 6:45 AM. Then he will be home before noon to torment me in the shop. It is going to take some time to get a schedule worked out where I can still be productive those days. I kind of have the opposite problem as you GG. I have been used to an empty shop/house all day every day since he started daycare as a baby. Don't get me wrong, he is a great kid and I am looking forward to it. One of the reasons I like self employment. I can always make it to the stuff that my parents didn't get a chance to make it to all the time. He keeps himself quite occupied and loves being in the shop with dad. But as you all know, with a four year old you can't be to involved in something else and not expect to be interrupted with one thousand questions that contain the word why, what, when, or where. Along with all the other stuff they are doing or getting into.
