sounds like someone needs to get a job.
Sounds like someone else spoke a tad bit too soon!
I do have a job Jenny!! I stay home and take care of my babies!!....AND, Let's see what else do I do?...hhhmmm, where should I start?
Well, I volunteer my time almost every single day at school, I am the room parent for all three of my kids, I do all of their class parties, help with all the programs, go on all of the field trips ....etc. I help out with just about every single thing they have for ANY and ALL of their school functions.
I am a their chauffeur for quite a few things, like right now we have soccer, which my daughter has Monday and Wednesday, and my boy's have Tuesday and Thursdays....did I mention that I also coach and ref at each and every game?
My husband is their coach of baseball, so all I have to do their is keep score and things like that, but I'm not one of those parent's that sit back and read a book while they are playing.
I am the Bloomington Athletic Association Wrestling Director...which starts in October and goes through March, and is also 4 days a week. I do that AND go to my monthy VOLUNTEER city director meetings.
I help out with my daughters floor hockey team each year, and I also help out with her girl scouts when I can. My boy's also will start boy's scouts this month, hhhmmm I wonder how they will get there?
I will be taking them to religion classes every Wednesday from September - May.
I'm a cook for everybody here and sometimes for my 4 nephews that live next door! I watch a few of my friends kids off and on all summer long just to help them out. I hardly ever have less then 6 kids here...and no, I do not make them pay me. I also help teach many children how to swim each summer in our pool. Let's see what else? Oh, ONCE IN A WHILE, I just might have a little laundry and cleaning to do....and well let's see...I might have to go grocery shopping every here and there...and sometimes we need toilet paper and stuff like that....I cut my kids hair, and some of their friends too. Oh and sometimes my kids get little boo-boo's once in a while, and then I have to put my nursing outfit on for that! Oh and since I'm home during the day, I also find time once in a while to mow the grass, or snowblow and shovel in the winter. I also take care of my garden and my flowers. Oh and now that school has started, I just might have to help my kids with their homework once in a while...In my SPARE time, I try to teach them all (along with my husband) about the GREAT OUTDOORS, hunting, fishing, camping etc.
I think I could go on for another hour or so here, but I will cut it short, I dont want others too bored from my rambling on and on, but I already might have lost a few of ya!
So Jenny, besides being a maid, a cook, a hairdresser, a gardner, a nurse, a teacher, a coach, a babysitter, a homemaker, a volunteer for everything possible....and a MOM....do you still think I need to find a job?
You see Jenny, just because I do not get a paycheck it certainly does not mean that I don't have a job!! I like my job, and I'm not complaining, not a bit, I'm very grateful for everything that I am able to do...but if you do not think it's a job....you are very, very mistaken. And my paycheck is seeing my little ones happy little faces each day...and worth every single minute of the time I put into each day for them!
I thought about this little joke when I read your reply:
What did you do today?
A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard.
The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall.
In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing.
In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.
He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened.
He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the
bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.
As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went.
He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?' She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?' 'Yes,' was his incredulous reply. She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it.'
