OK so I am totally slacking but if there is any chance I can still get in I would love it!!!!

My name is Heather aka Jewel I have been hunting since I was old enough to, that would be.........19 years WOW.  I enjoy varmit hunting the most but have and still go duck, pheasant, antelope, grouse, and deer hunting of course!!!

I use a Remington 6mm model 7.  My dad bought it for me when I was 12 and I still love it.  It is sooo light and works great for doing drives but will still take them down at 300 yards.  I also have a Browning 20 gauge my dad bought me when I was 16 and a Springfield 9mm I bought for myself  ;D

Not sure how old I was when I got my first deer but I sat for several years before I got the chance to shoot one.  It was before all kids under 16 got a doe permit, which I think is a great change in the laws.  The biggest buck I have gotten is a 6pointer, no wall hanger but I was proud.  I really only go hunting for the meat, I am no trophy hunter.

This is a pic of my doe antelope from last year.  If all goes well I will be heading back to MT again in a few weeks!!!

I hope some team will pick me/or I will be assigned to????????????????????

OK Im the latest entry.  I am Grute's youngest son.  Everbody asks me so I'l tell you that Oober Ponage means Pure Ownage.  I am 12 this year so this will be my very first time deer hunting.  I won a hunt at a farm called Maple Lakes farms.  I'll hunt that with a 20 gauge shot gun with 5/8 ounce slugs and no scope.  Then I'll aslo get to hunt with my Dad, brother (Hockey #12) and some friends up North with my 25.06 with 120 grain bullets and a Leupold scope.  I can't wait to go deer hunting and I hope I get a deer to help my team score some points.  Here's my picture with my 25.06:

Any word on only250? If he is in or not. That is on my team with Ryan. If not we will take Jewel. I know only250 has posted once and has not been on since.
If today was perfect. There would be no need for tomorrow.

Well the teams are already set so Jewel's not available.  We can check with folks like Only$250 and see what's going on.

I thought I signed up for this previously, but evidently i didn't...

If there is enough interest for an additional team, or if a team is short a member, count me in. I can get my Dad and another friend who will be hunting firearms opener with Dennis Servaty to join also to create another team if needed...let me know if that's possible at this point please Don.

This year will be, I believe, my 16th year deer hunting. I have hunted every year in south central Minnesota during shotgun/slug season using my Remington 870 12 gauge with the exception of last year when I had the honor of joining OJ (Dennis Servaty) and his family at their deer camp in the Upper Red Lake/Waskish area where I hunted with my father in laws .308 with open sights.

This year I will be hunting only in south central Minnesota again on family owned wooded land along the Wilton River with my Remington 870 12 gauge which I added a Bushnell scope to a couple of years ago. The first year with the Bushnell scope, I harvested a very nice 8 ptr at about 90 yards. The majority of my shots on our land are 50-60 yards.

We did not hunt this area last year and the one year break has definitely had a positive effect on the size of the herd and the maturity of the bucks in the area. I am very excited about the potential for this years hunt!

Good luck everyone, and please be safe in the woods!

 :happy1:

*The picture in my avatar is of the beautiful Doe that I harvested last year at URL with Dennis Servaty and The Moline Gang using my father in laws .308 with open sights! I shot the Doe from a ladder stand at 90-95 yards.

Below is a picture of the 8 ptr I harvested on our family owned property 4 years ago with my Remington 870 12 gauge with Bushnell scope:

Thanks Don, that sounds great!

I just added member "flyingthree-nicorn" to Team Realtree to fill out our team. He is a friend of Dennis and mine that has hunted with my Dad and I here in south central MN for many years, and he will be hunting up at URL with Dennis and The Moline gang again this year.

so... if I take a deer during bow... then rifle, then black powder... I can only claim 1 of them for points?

I see many ties in this.
If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?

The tie breaker will be the extra animals you harvest.  If we both have 300 points but you got 3 and I only got 1 doe, then you'll win.
