The Twins beat Kansas City tonight and the White Sox lost both games of a double header to Toronto.  The Twins are sitting only one game back from first place.  They have been hanging around all year.  How do you think they will end up this year?

I am guessing they will miss the playoffs.  The bullpen is such a mess right now.  If the White Sox would have played better the last couple of weeks we would be out of it right now.  Whatever happens, I don't think many people thought they would even be in the position they are right now.  If we keep these players around and add a few pieces the future should be bright.

Anything can happen.  Look at 1987 and 1991.  No matter what happens, they have had a good year and another one where nobody predicted they would be this good.  I'm not even a baseball fan and I have found myself tuning into several games this year!

I agree that they have had a better year then what anyone was predicting.

Just think about our starting rotation.  Who the heck would have thought that all these young arms would have pitched so well?  I think we have a very solid starting staff for several years to come.  With more experience, they are only going to get better!

Now look at the other young position players.  Casilla was all but written off and started the year at AAA.  He has been outstanding this summer.  Buscher has been on a tear with his bat (now he just needs to continue to get better with the glove).  Who would have though Denard Span would be batting over .300 in the lead off spot for the Twins?  I thought we were done early this year when Cuddyer had to go on the DL the first time.  This is Gomez first full year in the bigs.  His bat has cooled off, but he is only 22 years old.

The future is looking very bright for the Twins!

They might even get it done this year and make the playoff's.  They been proving me wrong all year!

Cuddyer's rippin the cover off the ball in BP as we speak :taz:.... he'll come back for that final series with the Sox... I hope Im wrong, but I think we'll make the playoffs, but ya aint goin deep into them with the bullpen we have right now... but just like last year, they sure are fun to follow!  Span & Casillia are studs now... they sure will studley in that new stadium in a few years! :happy1: :dancinred:

Twins look good again tonight.  Slowey pitched well, and lots of 2 out hits with runners in scoring position.

I know everyone is all up on the Vikes and all, but guess what?  Our Twinkee's are just a few games out and we're playin the socks tonite!  They really need a sweep, but two of three may be ok if we can stay up for the royals afterwards....  Its gonna be tough to watch, but I'll have to force myself to.... ;)  Sure wish we had Santana right about now..... :cry:  Ya never know, the Twins have done stranger things to win a division.... GO TWINKS!!!! :bow: :taz: :dancinred: :party1: :rocker;

I really think they need to sweep.  We don't want to have to count on Cleveland beating Chicago in the final series when they have nothing to play for.

It will be a tough series with Chicago.  The one good thing is it is at the dome.  I hope we sweep them!

Well it was a good start to the series tonight.  Two more wins would be nice.

I agree, we gotta win our games... The Indians have been playin tough though!  I'll take some help from them no problem! ;D  The bad thing is even if we could sweep the Sox, we got the Royals next, & they've played us tough all season, so they are the perfect spoiler... :banghead:

I will feel a lot better if we win tonight.  Blackburn has been struggling and we need him to step up and pitch well tonight.

Another big win.

I will never understand why Twins fans feel the need to boo AJ.

I think it has to do when he tried to spike Justin Morneau at first base..

Because AJ is a jackass and the dirtiest player in the game. Intentionally trying to injure opponents, spiking the ball at batboys, blocking the plate when there is no need, he has done that many times when plays are not even close. Stepping on first basemans ankles on routine grounders........

If that aint enough, just look at his new haircut/color from last month.  :rotflmao:

This has been going on since he was traded.  He was a good player for us while he was here and when Mauer came up we trade him for Liriano, Nathan and Boof.  It was a great deal for us and it is not like he asked to be traded, we had a better catcher coming up and needed to make room for him.

He may be a little dirty.  I have not seen every incident, but I will guess that the hometown broadcasters blow them all a little out of proportion.  As far as I know he has never actually hurt anyone by any of this.  The guy wants to win and I would take that over someone who is more concerned about not putting his spikes in the second baseman's leg than trying to break up a double play.  I guess I will just stay in my corner and be embarrassed when we boo him and when we boo the opposing pitcher for having the audacity to throw over to first base with a runner on.

AJ is definatley one of those guys ya love if he's on your team, & ya hate him if he's not.... he's that instagator type... sometimes he can be a disruption in the lockeroom and on the bench... but yeah Ryan, it aint too classy to boo a guy like that, Makes us fans look like Philly or NY fans... AJ was laughin though when he got booed walkin up to the plate, it made me feel a bit better about it...

Oh yeah.... I have no nails left on my freakin hands from watchin that one... was watchin the last half of the game with my mom in the hospital, I thought it was a bit too much for her, but when I asked if she was gonna watch the rest of the game, cause I was gonna take off & let her get some rest, she said dont you dare take off, there's no way Im sleepin with this one run lead...  pretty funny... she loves the Twinkees. ;)

We have tickets for Sundays game, and as much as I want it to be a clincher game, I would rather have them be a 1-1/2 in front and not have any small heartattacks associated with it!

If they are 1 1/2 up on Sunday that would be the clinching game.  I think there is a good change you will see an important game.

6-3 twins down in the bottom of 5. Are you kidding me? Could this get any closer?
