Well I don't think that it's funny.  It is kinda of sad to see  all those quality bucks being shot for no reason but to have fun.  Those deer could have been good memories for alot for people around that area whose has not shot a nice buck before. just my op

Of course they had fun!  Isn't that the point (and several good meals).  The good memories were made by all of the folks who were lucky enough to harvest these nice deer.  I think your point was well made, I just think you missed the boat a bit.  I am guessing everyone involved will be talking about that awesome harvest way back in 2007 and how much fun it was years from now!  Those are great memories!

I think the picture shows a total lack of respect for the deer.

I'm thinking they were well aware of the laws when they shot all of these deer otherwise they wouldn't have taken a picture. That happened to a guy down here where he shot a 140" deer early season, didn't want to tag it (WTF?) and had his brother buy a tag that day and took a picture. I didn't take the DNR long to figure that his brother who bought the tag didn't have a waiting period and they came down and confiscated the deer, and all the pictures he took.

Think of it this way, if you managed land for a period of years sticking money into it and maintaining food plots, you would probably want to go out with a bang. Depending on the terms of thier lease with the landowner they may have been surprised that they had to give up the lease after all thier hard work. I bet they called all of thier friends, family members, and maybe even some not so good friends to come out and shoot some deer with them.

ViperDXT may have some of these answers but I'm guessing this was some sort of game farm operation.  If you notice, none of the people are wearing orange which means either they were all taken buy bow or they were not bound by normal hunting laws.  IE game farm.
How about it Viper, any idea where the guy who built your garage got this picture from and the real story behind it?

I only saw this on the net,  but I do feel bad for all of those good buck being kill.  I mean,  I can understand that they put alot of effort into the land and wasn't allow to hunt anymore and went on a rampage with the buck.  To me...that is just over-kill.

Are you all insane? These bucks are what they worked for. Now they get to reep what they have sewn. If Me and my brothers worked hard to manage big bucks with the intent to harves them... WE WOULD HARVEST THEM! These guys don't get another chance to get anything out of something they put in to. This land is over for them. If the other people in the area want to shoot a big buck and have great memories of it then they should stop shooting small bucks and put the work into it like these guys did. This is not the DNR, this is agroup of management hunters that look like they did a darn good job of it, and now they get what they deserve for all of their work. If you think this is disrespectfull then you haven't put much work in on your hunting land. This is exacly why you manage bucks.

I find it hard to believe that all of those bucks were shot in one year.  To me the picture looks like they have taken a picture of a bunch of shoulder mounted deer that were maybe shot on the land.  I can't really make out a full body on any of them.  If they did shoot all of them deer in one year for the reason of not being able to hunt the land again they are showing a total lack of respect for deer and It says alot about the kind of people they are.

It does say a lot about them.

1)  They are good at managing a herd.
2)  They are skilled shooters.
3)  They worked hard for what they got.
4)  They are happy (note the smiles)
5)  They have worked a long time to expierence a hunt like that.
6)  They payed for that expierence. Not only in the lease but in the time and work.
7)  They did not want to thin the population too much, so they did not shoot does.
8)  They only harvest trophy bucks (I don't see a single buck in there that I would not have shot)
9)  They are not the kind of people that don't let women and children into their hunting party.
10) They havested a good # of deer in an area that was obviously over populated.
11) They had a better day of hunting than most can claim

I got this in an email a while back. It is a fake, sort of. Look real close. You won't find a leg, hoof or any part of the body of a deer. You also will not see a tongue hanging out of the mouth of any of the deer. They are all deer head mounts the best I can tell.

Kinda what I figured also. I have seen pictures where people have got together and put all of their head mounts on a barn wall. Makes for a great pic.

1. If you know anything at all about QDM You would know that isn't the way to go about it.
2. How do you know? Can you see the blood spot behind each front shoulder?
3. I am sure they did but I would be willing to bet all those deer were not shot in one year on the same property. It would have to be a game farm to be possible.
4. Pretty obvious.
5. ALL of them worked on the piece of property? Food plots etc....?
6. So since they paid for hunting rights it makes it right to kill everything that has horns?
7. That statement makes no sense whatsoever.
8. Hard for me to tell in the pic if they are all trophys but what is considered a trophy? 130 140 150 170
9. People I know encourage it.
10. Again QDM you need to thin the does and cull the genetically weak bucks to get the big bucks.
11. I guess I dont know any group that has had a day like that.

Again I dont think this happened on one piece of property and if it did they are poor excuses for sportsman. And to be introducing women and children to this type of slaughter is plain stupid.

That looked like fun. Let me try

1) This is their last year as "manager"
2) They are all dead arn't they
3) I'll go with the info given to me. No reason not to.
4) Yes it is.
5) Sombody did. Time in is time in. If it was only one person... What a nice person!
6) Deer don't have horns they have antlers.
7) Bucks don't have babies. If you have further questions on this... Ask your wife...
8) They all look like big big big deer. I didn't measure them.
9) Do you know the people in the picture? I don't. But they look like the people you know.
10) That is if you want big bucks next year. There is no next year. So....Done and done.
11) Me either.

I think these guys, in getting the boot, took what they could. What if the land owner saw what they did to manage this land and then wanted to rent it to guides? (It has happened!) If that was the case, and I have no idea if it was, but if it was, they should have shoot all the does too. Also, I think the women and children that may be hooked for life by this expierence can handle their own buy the looks of things. ;D

I think it is simply a "photo shop" deal.  If you blow it up a little you can see antlers floating in air, blank spots, and things out of place in general.  Also, from the picture, you can see a deep shadow to the right of the deer on the right (and what is that strange antler above it) and all the people have cap shadows slighltly to the left.  Looks bogas to me.

I guess if I were invited to hunt with this party on thier last year of managing the land that they leased for many years, I wouldn't hesitate and pack all of the ammo I could. We can all speculate what is good management, or what is bad, but the truth is not one of us knows the whole story about this.

I saw this picture without a heading in an e-mail one othertime also. I think it's a fake, or a few deer shot one year, mixed in with mounts of previous years.

this picture could very well be real, but who knows, yes they can harvest deer like this in one season. i got a great article to prove it. its from wolf lake, they are only 8-9 miles from our land. here is the site. some of you may of already seen it but, its just proof that that many trophys can be taken in one season.

Looks "photo shopped" to me too.

If this photo was "real" then I do understand both sides of the debate, I can definitely understand how these people would want to harvest as many deer as possible because there land is no longer available, that still does not give them the right to be selfish and take deer just to take them.... with that said, i do understand how they feel and feel bad that they lost there land that they managed for so long and all of the hard work put in. But...... I also think this is a total disrespect for the deer and all sportsman/outdoorsman.

I hunt on 75 acres 5 minutes from my house, I have been hunting this property for over 20 years, we have a lot of large bucks and deer on the property, if I were to find out that the land was no longer available or the property owners stopped us from hunting for whatever reason, I would never call in the national guard to eliminate every deer just so noone else can have the opportunity to harvest them. Thats just plain selfish......

I also knew it was a fake picture. There is no way they took that many bucks at the same time. sorry folks but it's not true. I can see that many bucks in a huge area over a very long period in time but to stack them all up as if they were all shot within the same few days is just bull.
All you folks defending this bull, come on, get real. :bonk:

I think that those are all shoulder mounts, because they are.  I see about 20 or more deer and what 11 hunters????   now if that not poaching i don't know what is. tell me where u can hunt in MN and shoot more than 1 buck. nowhere is the correct answer.  why would u even waste your time dragging all those mounts out, and taking a stupid picture like this, when its obvious they are mounts, and that there are was more bucks per hunter than allowed.

I think you can totally tell they are shoulder mounts.  One like stated earlier there are no legs in the picture but also note that all the deers heads are positioned just right and none of them are laying on the ground which I am sure they would be if they had just recently been shot.

Probably a group of deer that had been shot by the same family/hunting group over several years.  And because there were so many they could not fit them all in the picture unless they stacked them up like cord wood.  ;)
