Liriano has replaced Contreras on the all star roster. I'm very happy for him and Minnesota fans, but the way he made the team is ridicolous. I wouldn't blame him if he snubbed them back and told the league he preffered not to play. Last week he wasn't good enough according to the fans, managers and players voting, but now that Contreras is unable to pitch, Liriano gets the call.

The whole all star process is a joke.  They need to get rid of the rule that requires every team to have a player in the game.  It's good to see he did make the team though, he definitely deserved it.

I have never seen a young pitcher so collected, with a confident, yet not cocky attitude.
he knows he has a job to do and he knows he can do it. then that's just it, he goes out every single time and plays to his ability.
there are many young talented players who seem to get overlooked each year. that is unfortunate. the reason they take players from each team i would have to believe is so the yankees didn't end up with ten players in the all star game.
my biggest bitch about the whole all star deal is that the Twins seem to fall flat on their faces immediately afterward >:(

I can't wait? to see what all these guys will do in 2007.

Cy Young - Liriano

ERA - Santana

Strikeouts - Liriano

Saves Leader - Nathan

Batting Title - Mauer

Hits leader - Mauer

HR & RBI Title - Morneau (OK that's a stretch, but he'll hit 40 & knock in 120)

Gold Glove - Hunter & Castillo (If they are still around)

Find a way to pick up Derek Lee & figure out what to do at 3rd base and this team will compete with the White Sox for many years if they can keep them all together.? These guys should all be in their prime when the new stadium opens.? It's what Cleveland did back when they opened up Jacobs Field and won a bunch of divisions titles with good young home grown talent.

I'll be watching the 1st three innings of the All Star Game.  I like the intro and want to check out the new stadium in Pittsburg.  After that, if I can keep my eyes open, hope to catch Mauer hit once & Santana and Liriano each strike out the side.

My initial response was to sue her for defamation of character, but then I realized that I had no character.
