Friday 10/3/08 Report

"Let's do it again" That's what Bruce Gonzalez said after having fished with me 3 weeks ago. So, we set up a trip for today. Fished from 6:30 am to 1:30 pm. The water temp was 65.2 degrees and the air was cool with a North breeze. We picked up 1 largemouth, 1 pike and lost 1 pike along with 2 short hits. This was trolling spinner baits in the early morning.

The smallmouth fishing started slow and seemed to pick up as the wind and clouds diminished. So, go figure less chop and less clouds = more fish?? Some days you can just throw the old fishing manual out the window. The best depth for the smallies today was 28 ft and the action was relatively consistent if you had the patients not to run and gun all over the lake. We only worked 3 spots for smallmouth and stayed on the last spot the longest.

See ya on the water,

Lee

***Catch and Release fishing is a lot like golf. You don't have to eat the ball to have a good time.
