I am thinking about doing a get-together for a pre-season warm up at a shooting preserve in late September. We have done this in the past and always have had great turn outs. It is fun to get tother with everyone and See all the dogs work together. Every year it has ran very smoothly thanks to Pat and fun was had by all. This year I will save Pat the trouble and begin organizing in about a month if I get some interest. One of the problems in the past was people not pre-paying and not showing up leaving someone else to pick up thetab. When we reserve the farm for the day it requires a certain amount of birds to be bought. This year it will have to be pre-pay. I have to determine a site and all the other details but first lets give this post a month and see if it generates any interest.

Nah, not me I hate Pheasant hunting and get togethers. ;) Plus the dog would rather stay at home and sleep all day.

Well it sounds like we have a few already interested. Either way we will go. If we can't get a big group to reserve the whole place a few of us can just go. We'll let this go a few more weeks and then get something a littl more concrete. I know in the past we did this at Glendorado but given their tough early fall conditions we may do it somewhere else. I know "high life" has a place he goes to, maybe we could go there....?

Ya it's called Bear Creek. It's just east of Hinckley. I'll give them a call and see when they expect to have some birds. They have some great fields. Large areas of natural grass with strips of corn and sorghum. They also have some woods and low areas that can be tough walking, but as we all know thats where the birds are.

There is another place I went to late in the season called Rocky Bay. Their located just east of Pine City. I only hunted one field there but it seemed like a nice set up. Benny hunts there quite a bit he might be able to tell you/us more about it.
