Does anyone know of a field or place that is near the Metro to go and shoot clay pigeons and won't cost anything to be there?

There used to be a DNR/State owned range in Sherburn Co. with a clays range... It got closed down from users shooting outside its boundaries and causing trouble with local landowners... it was a nice place to go site in guns... all it takes is a few idiots to ruin a good thing!  nuthin around close with out a fee... gotta find some public land somewhere, but it aint gonna be close to the cities....

I might suggest Metro Gun Club in Blaine, They do not charge per gun just for targets
if you are a member it is cheaper than non members. They have trap, skeet, sporting clays &
duck tower.  :fudd: :fudd: just a thought

I would suggest BeaverBrook gun club up in East Bethel, they only charge for targets as well.
You don't need to be a member to shoot clays on Sundays noon to 4 PM.

Oakdale Gun Club in Lake Elmo has a trap range.  They are open 7 days a week now.
Go to www.oakdalegunclub.org for their fees.  I know that for rifle and handgun shooters
it is $15 per person and you can shoot all day.

Metro in Blaine is a large club, but like everyone else, they jacked their fees up a second time this year. I can't blame them, they have a big campus and they have a cool crew there; Rick runs the place like a Drill Seargent.  They have a decent backdrop, better than St. Paul Rod and Gun.  Plus the beer is cold and the clientele is respectable......I respect anybody with a Perazzi in one hand and a Superposed in the other!
